OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University became Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer regular-season champion by defeating Oklahoma Baptist 6-0 on Thursday evening at Stars Field.
The Stars' offense was led by Caroline Dixon, a freshman from Manchester, England, who had three goals and an assist in the match. Top-seeded OCU plays in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals at 2 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Stars Field.
Alex Miley, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla, had the first goal in the match and was assisted by Sarah Leonard, a junior from West Yorkshire, England. Leonard also had a goal for the Stars in the 88th minute of the match.
Malin Andersson, a sophomore from Huskvarna, Sweden, rounded out OCU's scoring with a goal in the 68th minute. She was assisted by Dixon.
Goalkeeper Brittany Tibbs, a sophomore from Kansas City, Mo., led the Stars' defense with six saves in the match.
OCU improved to a record of 13-4-1, 9-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
